This impressive Grade II listed station, with its Edwardian neo-Baroque facade, has recently undergone extensive renovations, which sees it transformed into a major east-west interchange in northern England. Still bearing the original name - Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway, and with its glorious glass and iron canopy restored to its previous splendor, the mosaic-tiled map of the former network routes has been lovingly repaired and serves as a timely reminder of England's rich railway history.
