Following a fault on a train at Manchester Victoria all lines have now reopened.

Impact

Train services running through this station may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 02:00 11/06.

What's happened?
Services through Manchester Victoria are being disrupted due to a fault on a train earlier.

How does this affect my journey?
Train services are now able to run through Manchester Victoria (in both directions).
However, services on the following routes will still be affected by this disruption, due to trains/train crew displacement:
Between Leeds and Chester.
Between Leeds and Wigan Wallgate
Between Southport and Stalybridge.
Headbolt Lane and Blackburn
Manchester Victoria and Leeds
Clitheroe/Blackburn and Rochdale

You should continue your journey using the alternative suggestions below.

You can travel on the following operators and routes at no extra cost:
TransPennine Express services between Manchester Piccadilly and Leeds.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Replacement transport:
Road transport will be operated by Bestway/Oceans/Solomon Travel as follows:
From Rochdale at 00:20 calling at stations to Leeds.
From Wigan Wallgate at 00:10 calling at stations to Southport.
From Wigan Wallgate at 00:05 calling at stations to Manchester Victoria then set down only to Rochdale.
From Manchester Victoria at 00:25 calling at stations to Rochdale.

Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick-up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (except for service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport.

Journey times may be extended by approximately 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.

Due to urgent repairs to a bridge at South Bank:

Impact

Train services running through this station will be running non stop between Middlesbrough and Redcar Central. South Bank will not be served. Disruption is expected until 16:00 31/12.

Customer advice

Services between Middlesbrough and Saltburn are currently being disrupted due to an unsafe footbridge at South Bank.

Effect on service:
Middlesbrough to Saltburn services will not call at South Bank, in this direction only.

Road Transport details.
To assist customers to complete their journey, a shuttle bus has been provided between Middlesbrough, South Bank & Redcar Central. This will be operated by E-Travel.
Customers at South Bank travelling towards Saltburn should board the shuttle service and then connect at Redcar Central for Northern services towards Saltburn.
Journey times will be extended by 10 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
