Leeds - York, disruption to services (7 June - 6 July)

Engineering improvement works are taking place (on Saturdays and Sundays) between York and Leeds every weekend from 7 June to 6 July.

Northern trains will be replaced by buses between Leeds and York throughout this time. Buses run to a schedule and take longer than the train; please check journey planners before travelling for the most accurate times.

The York-Harrogate-Leeds route is unaffected by these works and Transpennine Express trains are still running direct between Leeds and York (via a diversion) - so journeys will take longer than usual.

This work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade - more details can be found on the TRU page.

Leeds - Dewsbury, disruption to services (26 May - 20 June)

Weekdays from Monday 26 May - Friday 20 June, trains between Leeds and Dewsbury will be diverted or replaced by buses, as follows:

  • Leeds to Wigan via Dewsbury: these trains will run via Bradford instead, and will not call at Morley, Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield or Brighouse
  • Leeds to Huddersfield: local stopping trains will be replaced by buses running every hour
  • Leeds to Halifax via Dewsbury: an hourly replacement bus will run, calling at Morley, Batley, Dewsbury, Mirfield and Brighouse

This work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade - more details can be found on the TRU page.

Hudderfield to Lockwood (Penistone line) - (5 July - 17 August)

On weekends from Saturday 5 July - Sunday 18 August, buses will replace trains between Lockwood and Huddersfield on the Penistone line, all day. Buses run to a schedule and take longer than the train; please check journey planners before travelling for the most accurate times.

This work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade - more details can be found on the TRU page.
