Engineering and disruptions
Engineering works, major disruptions and planned improvement work
Engineering works to maintain and improve the rail network usually take place overnight and at weekends. When these works take place, alternative transport such as bus services will be provided in place of trains and journey times are likely to be extended. From time to time, major engineering works can disrupt services for longer and we'll provide details of those on this page in advance of the works taking place.
Details of what engineering works are taking place across our network over the next 8 weeks can be found on the National Rail website.
Online journey planners, such as National Rail or our App are the best place to check whether there are any changes to trains due to engineering works or amended timetables.
