A legendary thief. Literary Heroes abound. Pioneers. Nottingham’s history is one of triumph, independence and rebellion, which can still be seen today in its art and writing. Just a small number of reasons to visit Nottingham by train.

The home of England’s favourite thief, Robin Hood, the city offers many options for tracking down one of history’s most successful vigilantes. Join in on the multi-award-winning Robin Hood Town tour, which investigates how a small bard’s tale grew into one of the greatest stories ever told.

Vigilantes aren’t everything Nottingham has to offer, with a rich history built into it as well. There are plenty of things to do in Nottingham regardless of your budget, starting with Nottingham Castle, perhaps England’s most important landmark. Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is England’s oldest pub, established in 1189. The pub has served crusaders, locals and tourists alike for almost 1,000 years.
