What is a Ranger train ticket?

With a Ranger ticket, you can hop on and off our trains as many times as you fancy on a single day, within your chosen area. Some of these tickets have time restrictions, typically during peak periods. It’s always worth a quick check of the times before you lace up your walking boots and head out the door.

What is a Rover train ticket?

If you're planning on staying a bit longer, our Rover tickets are just the job. They give you more than one day of travel over a set period, so you can explore the North at a pace that suits you. Think of it as your passport to the region—whether you want to spread your trips out or explore every single day.

They can be purchased from your nearest station from the Ticket Office or via a Northern Ticket Vending Machine (TVM). Please note they are unavailable through our website and App.
