Serving the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate, the station was opened in 1862. Designed by the famous architect Thomas Prosser, it was the first brick built building in the town. Undergoing several upgrades throughout the years, today’s building bears little resemblance to the original and is much more utilitarian in its outlook.

The station opens into the heart of Harrogate, with the attractions, history and culture on its doorstep, including the Turkish Baths and Health Spa which have been serving tourists since the 1800s, and continue to do so.
