Travel update for the North West
This weekend, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June, services across the North West are expected to be much busier than usual due to hot weather and major events in and around Manchester.
To help you travel:
- Please check your journey before setting off
- Allow extra time for your journey
- Where possible, consider travelling outside peak periods
What to expect
Some services across the North West will be busier, and a small number of journeys will be amended to help keep the timetable running reliably.
Saturday 20 June
Fewer trains will run between Manchester Piccadilly and Alderley Edge. These timetable changes are already shown in online journey planners.
Sunday 21 June
We will be providing buses instead of trains between Preston and Colne. The updated timetable for these services will show in journey planners shortly.
