The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is situated on the scenic Cumbrian Coast line that links the border and cathedral city of Carlisle in the north with the maritime and shipping building town of Barrow-in-Furness in the south.

Take a Northern train along the scenic Cumbrian Coast Line between Carlisle and Barrow-in-Furness, a journey of ever changing views.

At Ravenglass alight for the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway and hop on a steam train from the Lake District's only coastal village to the foot of England's highest mountain.

Where to purchase

Tickets can be purchased from any National Rail ticket office, from Ticket Vending Machines, and from conductors on trains (where no ticket-buying facilities are available at the customers' boarding station or if the customer has a ‘Promise to Pay’ and pays by cash). Tickets currently cannot be purchased online or by the App.

Ticket Purchases

Customers must report to the ticket office at Ravenglass to collect their Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway return ticket, seats are allocated on the next available trains for through ticket holders.
