Your journey to Blackpool awaits
Book your train ticket with Northern, and you’ll arrive at either Blackpool North or South station, ready to immerse yourself in the seaside. Upon arrival, visit the ticket office to buy your bus and tram ticket. The friendly staff are eager to assist you, so don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have!

Where to get your bus or tram tickets in Blackpool
Tickets are available at the Blackpool North station ticket office, just ask for the Blackpool Bus and Tram ticket.
You can also buy tickets from any ticket vending machine, just look for the Blackpool Bus and Tram ticket.
You can also buy bus and tram tickets on board the Blackpool buses and trams themselves.
While online or app purchasing is not yet an option, we are working to make it possible by the end of July.

When you visit the station ticket office, you can grab your Blackpool transport tickets at great prices:
- One Way: £3.50 (travel to one destination with one mode of transport)
- Day Pass: £6.60 (unlimited travel on Blackpool Transport buses and trams for a day)
- Weekly: £23 (enjoy limitless travel across Blackpool Transport buses and trams for an entire week)
How to find bus and tram stops
Arrival at Blackpool North
Bus
Upon arrival at Blackpool North station, you’ll find the closest bus stop right outside the main entrance. This is bus stop NS1 and there’s a small shelter to stand in as you wait. From this bus stop, catch Bus 1 which heads towards North Pier and runs around every 30 minutes. It’ll take less than 10 minutes to get to North Pier by bus.
Bus 1 to North Pier:
- First bus: Monday to Saturday - 9.30am / Sunday – 10.00am
- Last bus: Monday to Saturday - 18.50pm / Sunday – 16.30pm

Tram
If you’re looking to head further into Blackpool and the Fylde coast, the tram may be the better option for you. The tram is just a short walk away, via the underground walkway opposite the exit to Blackpool North station. Look for signage saying North Station Tram Stop. The trams run around every 15 minutes.
Trams to Starr Gate (for the Tower, piers and Pleasure Beach):
- First tram: Monday to Friday - 6.30am / Saturday – 7.30am / Sunday – 8.50am
- Last tram: 23.15pm every day
Trams to Fleetwood (for Bispham, Cleveleys and Fleetwood):
- First tram: Monday to Saturday - 6.00am / Sunday – 7.20am
- Last tram: 23.20pm every day

Arrival at Blackpool South
Bus
If you arrive at Blackpool South station, there are a variety of different buses you can catch close to the station. Directly outside the station, you’ll find buses that take you into the centre of Blackpool or the Zoo. Alternatively, a short walk around the corner will lead you to a bus stop for journeys to St Annes and Lytham.
Royal Oak (West Bound):
- Location: Outside the station
- Final bus destination: Cala Gran
- Bus number: 2
- Take this bus for: Tower, promenade, piers, north shore and Cleveleys
Royal Oak (East Bound):
- Location: Across the road from the station
- Final bus destination: Blackpool Zoo
- Bus number: 2
- Take this bus for: Stanley Park, model village and Blackpool Zoo
Royal Oak (North Bound):
- Location: Head left out of the station and walk until you come to a roundabout on the corner of Waterloo Road and Lytham Road. Cross the road at the roundabout, so you’re on the opposite side of the street. Continue up the street on the right-hand side of the road (opposite to the direction of traffic), until you reach a bus shelter outside the Lido Pool
- Final bus destination: Market Street
- Bus number: 11
- Take this bus for: Central and North piers, the Tower and the promenade
Royal Oak (South Bound):
- Location: Head left out of the station and walk until you come to a roundabout on the corner of Waterloo Road and Lytham Road. Turn left at the roundabout and stay on the left side of the road in the direction of traffic. Around the corner, you’ll find the bus stop on the opposite side of the road to Halifax Bank
- Final bus destination: Lytham Hospital or Lytham Square
- Bus number: 11
- Take this bus for: St Annes, Lytham
Tram
The closest tram stop to Blackpool South station is around a 7-minute walk away. You’ll need to turn left out of the station and then keep walking straight down Waterloo Road until you reach the promenade. The Waterloo Road tram stop is on your right, when you reach the promenade. Trams run every 15 minutes.
Trams to Starr Gate (for the Tower, piers and Pleasure Beach):
- First tram: Monday to Friday – 7.00am / Sunday – 8.55am
- Last tram: 00.40am every day
Trams to Fleetwood and North Station (for North Station, Bispham, Cleveleys and Fleetwood):
- First tram: Monday to Saturday – 5.05am / Sunday – 6.50am
- Last tram: 23.35pm every day
