Stalybridge Train Station facilities

On the Huddersfield Line, the station serves the Greater Manchester town of Stalybridge and saw its first passengers in the winter of 1845, with those initial few footfalls becoming nearly 1.25 million annually today.

Stalybridge Station has undergone many redesigns throughout the years, the majority being between 1998 and 2012, much of the original still remains intact. It’s one of the few English stations that has won awards from CAMRA and English Heritage for its sympathetic restoration projects and well-kept appearance. The most recent refurbishment cost around 20 million pounds and has given passengers lifts to all five platforms - two platforms being added as part of the redesign, new waiting rooms, clearer signage, and improved signalling. The station frontage now offers a clean-lined glass entrance hall, contrasting impressively with the Victorian red brick of the main building.

Whether your trip to Stalybridge is for work or leisure, there are a range of money saving options available, including Anytime tickets, giving you the flexibility to pick your own timetable, or the Family and Friends Travelcard for those taking the kids for a day out.
