Looking for something?

With dog ownership at an all-time high, research has revealed 72%* of dog owners curtail days out or feel guilty leaving their four-legged friend behind.

Yet whether you’re planning a bottomless brunch with your pack of friends or are on the lookout for a quiet place to curl up and grab a coffee, your canine companion needn’t miss out… famed for its musical heritage, architecture and lively atmosphere, you could get your tail in a spin trying to decide which dog-friendly establishments to visit in Liverpool.

To help you and your dog #GoDoYourThing, we’ve put together our guide to the best dog-friendly food and drink establishments in the centre of Liverpool.

And, if you’ve never taken your dog on the train, are a new dog owner, or you and your pooch just need a little reassurance, check out our top tips to taking a Northern train to ensure you both have a great day out.

Dog-friendly Liverpool

Set in one of the warehouses of the old Cains Brewery in the Baltic Triangle, The Baltic Market houses the best of Liverpool’s growing indie food vendor scene and it’s made even better by the fact that it’s dog friendly. The vendors are regularly changing to keep things fresh - but you can expect to get your paws on stone baked pizzas, halloumi fries, fried chicken and everything else in between. Saturday nights here are bound to get your tail wagging as there is usually a live band providing the music or their resident DJ on the decks.

While you’re in the Baltic Triangle, make sure to stop by the famous Love Lane Brewery to sample Liverpool’s most loved craft ales. They even give pets their own Love Lane bowl to drink from! The perfect pit stop to give your canine companion a stroke and snap an Instagram pic.

If you’re looking for somewhere to start off the night, or just after some hair of the dog, try out traditional Dock Road pub The Baltic Fleet. Providing tourists, locals and four-legged friends alike with a warm welcome, good food and a fine choice of liquid refreshment – you won’t have trouble hunting down this grade II listed building as it’s distinctly shaped like a ship, a true homage to Liverpool’s famous dock.

Dogs aren’t the only ones who like to play ball. Pins Social Club is a dog-friendly venue that prides itself on taking socialising back to the good old days; from retro bowling lanes to shuffleboard, beer pong to karaoke, and food vendors providing bottomless brunch while you entertain yourself, it’s a playground of fun for you and your pack of friends

Looking for somewhere to have a quiet cup of coffee and curl up with your pet pooch after an afternoon walking around the shops? Tucked away in Cleveland Square you’ll find Thoughtfully Cafe - a hidden gem right next to Liverpool ONE. With on-the-go snacks such as grilled toasties and banana bread available from just £4.50, you’ll find nothing to snarl about here – with a variety of dairy-free alternatives for your coffee too.

Dogs on the beach
