What a season!
We continued our partnership with the Super League for the 2025 season and as an Official Sustainable Train Travel Partner of Super League, we continued to serve the communities of the North in the sport we all love.
Why we partner with Super League
Northern has been an official partner of the Super League for the last nine years with some form of support going back to as early as 2005. The audience profile of the Super League closely matches the customer base of Northern and geographically we are perfectly aligned with nearly all the Super League teams and stadiums (save those in France!) This allows us to serve the communities of the North at a local level.
As the regional train operator, the partnership gives Northern the opportunity to work closely with the Super League and offer fans affordable transport to and from games. We also offer support within our local communities by providing equipment to grass root clubs, the most recent winners of our community competition were Stanningley Rugby Club!

2025 season
We continued to make attendance at top flight games more accessible for all; including the big events for Magic Weekend and the Grand Final at Old Trafford.
In February 2025, we launched a community competition to win rugby equipment and kit for rugby clubs across the North. The winners of that competition were Cottingham Tigers, Keighley Albion under 10s, Rochdale Mayfield Rugby club, Warrington Girls Community Rugby League club, Saddleworth Rangers and Batley ARLFC.
Last year we teamed up with Leeds Children's Hospitalto make the Grand Final the experience of a lifetime. A signed shirt by Leeds Rhinos was proudly donated to the hospital to remind everybody of the great day out. We also unveiled our competition winning banner of Rob Burrow at the Grand Final, and gave away rugby equipment to Stanningley Rugby Club, as well as giving away prizes at Magic Weekend and the Grand Final. We continued with our rugby kit giveaways in 2025 and ran competitions to give away tickets for lucky winners to attend the Grand Final. We also unveiled our Rob Burrow train wrap.
