Opened in October 1848, the station serves the Cheshire town of Congleton. Only a few miles south of Manchester, the area is popular with walkers and sees in excess of 300,000 passengers annually. Although on the Stoke/Manchester main line, the small station building lacks the impressive architecture of its contemporaries and is utilitarian in appearance.
Just outside the station, however, the small town of Congleton has all the amenities you would expect from a thriving town - restaurants, busy shops and local attractions.
Catching the train from Congleton Station to Manchester Airport takes around one hour.
The walk from the station to Congleton town centre takes approximately 15 minutes, following Canal Road.
There are 35 car parking spaces, including Blue Badge spaces.
Congleton Station has 17 secure bike storage spaces.
