How to get to the Heaton TrainCare Centre

A free shuttle service will operate from Newcastle Station to Heaton Depot for each arrival time stated on your ticket. There will be:

  • A direct bus service to the depot (this is a fully accessible route for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility).
  • A shuttle train service direct to the depot (this shuttle service will require the use of steps within the depot)

The shuttle services are complimentary and can not be reserved or guaranteed. Please keep to your booked time slots.

Look out for signs at Newcastle station or speak to a member of staff to get directions to the appropriate free shuttle services.

The complimentary shuttle service will run back to Newcastle Station at regular intervals throughout the day. We strongly recommend using mid-afternoon return shuttles where possible. Final services may be busy, and space is limited. If the last shuttle reaches capacity, you may need to arrange your own return to the station. Please plan your journey accordingly.

You can also make your own way to the event. There is no general parking at Heaton Depot, but limited disabled parking is available.

  • We have plans in place to make the event as accessible as possible. The shuttle buses to the event will be fully accessible and we have accessible toilets on site. However, please be aware that this is a manufacturing site and full accessibility cannot be guaranteed.

Supporting a Good Cause

All money raised from the event will go to local charities chosen by the Heaton TrainCare team, along with our charity partner, the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
