Educational Season Tickets FAQs
The discount for the Under 16 scheme is 50% off a child fare for an annual season ticket and 40% for term time tickets. Savings are based on purchasing tickets daily. This pass can be purchased from 1 August 2020 until 30 September 2020, however, this fantastic 50% discount is only available on purchases made in August. Purchases made in September will be at a reduced discount of 40%.
If a passenger gets on a train without a ticket or promise to pay notice at a station where ticket buying facilities are available, they may be liable to pay a Penalty Fare. The penalty is the greater of £20 or twice the full single from the station where they got on the train to the next station at which the train stops. If the passenger wants to travel beyond the next station, they must also pay the relevant fare from that station to their destination. If you refuse to pay the Penalty Fare, then you may be prosecuted under criminal law. Full details about Penalty Fares can be found here.
The ID for your child will work in conjunction with the ticket that we provide. This will allow us to check that the ticket is valid and being used correctly.

Autumn Term - 1 September 2020 until the 18 December 2020

Yes - please download the form and take to the station. Please note that the discount will be lower than purchasing the ticket online.
The pass will expire 3 months after their 16th birthday so dependent on when their birthday is it may be advisable to buy a termly pass and then change to a 16-17 saver.

Educational season tickets are offered on condition that the users of the tickets agree to abide by the National Rail conditions of travel and the railway Byelaws. Any repeated breach of these conditions may result in withdrawal of the ticket.
