As June rolls around, LGBTQ+ communities prepare to celebrate Pride Month across the world. In the North, there’s an abundance of choice when it comes to Pride events, from Manchester and Blackpool’s iconic parades to live music with exciting headliners in Newcastle.

Pride events in the North East
Sunderland Pride
When: 30th May - 7th June
Enjoy a week-long celebration in Sunderland full of exciting events with live music, marches, discussion panels and games nights. The events are being run by Out North East, with many venues within a 10-minute walk of Sunderland Station making your journey there and back simple. Alternatively, you can travel to Newcastle and then hop on the Metro.

Newcastle Pride
When: 25th - 26th July
Newcastle Pride returns to the heart of the city this summer, with this year's theme being announced as "City of Hope, Streets of Joy". The weekend is full of free events, starting with The March on 25th July, which acts as the cornerstone of the celebrations. You can also buy tickets for the Newcastle Pride Arena festival to enjoy headliners such as Nadine Coyle and Katy B. The events are taking place across Times Square, Grey's Monument and Eldon Square, which are all within a short walking distance of Newcastle and Manors Stations. Pride events in Greater Manchester
Stockport Pride
When: 26th July
Venture outside of Manchester to enjoy a day celebrating the LGBTQ+ community at Stockport Pride. From stalls and raffles to live music, this promises to be a fun day out for all. Stockport will be celebrating Pride at the historic Market Place, which is only a short 13-minute walk from Stockport Station.
Sparkle Weekend
When: 26th - 28th June
Over the last weekend in June, you can enjoy the UK's longest running celebration of trans lives - now in its 21st year! The Sparkle Weekend event takes place in Sackville Gardens, which is a 7-minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road Station, and features a selection of great performers from comedians to musicians. Take some time to peruse the multitude of stalls, as well as the dedicated Family & Youth Zone and Wellness Zone, to fully immerse yourself in the festivities.
Manchester Village Pride
When: 28th - 31st August
Manchester Village Pride is back with a variety of performers, charities and activists helping to shape the program. Manchester Pride is best known for its iconic Pride Parade, which will take place on Saturday 29th August, with this year's theme being "No Place Like Home" inspired by the Wizard of Oz. The event grounds are within a short walking distance of both Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road, making it easy to enjoy the celebrations with Northern. Pride events in Yorkshire
York Pride
When: 30th May
York is known for hosting fantastic Pride events, with 2025 seeing more than 17,500 people filling the city streets to celebrate, marking it their biggest year yet! This year, they plan to continue the momentum with one of the longest Pride Parades in the UK at 2.4 miles, as well as a festival celebration at the Knavesmire. To travel here, it is a 30-minute walk from York Station, or there are a number of buses to hop on.
Hull Pride
When: 30th July
Back to celebrate its 25th Anniversary - it's Hull Pride! As the region's biggest LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, they plan to blaze rainbows across the city and invite everyone to join the party. The events will take place across several locations, with the main stage being located at Zebedees Yard, a 12-minute walk from Hull Station.
Leeds Pride
When: 18th - 19th July
Leeds is commemorating their 20th anniversary of Pride celebrations this year, with a lineup of iconic performers including La Voix, Baga Chipz, and a variety of tribute acts. Leeds Pride will kick off with their parade, which leaves from Leeds Town Hall, with the main stage located at Lower Briggate - both of which are an 8-minute walk from Leeds Station. Pride events in the North West
Blackpool Pride
When: 5th - 7th June
After a 16-minute walk from Blackpool North Station, you can get involved in the 20th anniversary Blackpool Pride celebrations this June! Kick off the weekend by joining the Pride Parade, which ventures down the iconic promenade, followed by a visit to their Festival Headlands to see a variety of acts from music legends to drag queens. As one of the UK's top entertainment destinations, Blackpool Pride promises to be a weekend full of fun.
Liverpool Pride
When: 24th - 26th July
Liverpool is gearing up for an unforgettable weekend to celebrate Pride. To kick-start the celebrations, the Sugababes are headlining the Opening Party at M&S Bank Arena, alongside Beth Ditto in her first ever Liverpool solo show. The main parade will take place on the 25th, starting at Pier Head, which is an 18-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street, and ending at the M&S Bank Arena.
