The Merseyside town of Southport is served by this large station. Opened in August 1851, the six-platformed station has undergone many redesigns to arrive at the modern, bustling transport hub that sees more than four million passengers every year coming through its doors.
Many of those passengers are tourists and holidaymakers wanting to experience the glorious sands of Southport and the Sefton dunes. Southport town is full of quaint charm, with numerous attractions, shops and culturally interesting highlights - you’ll always find something new to explore.

The walk from the station to Southport’s town centre takes around five minutes if you go via Chapel Street.
