- Use the Journey Planner on this page to check routes and get a price estimate.
- Tap book tickets next to your chosen route.
- Select your date and time, and open return if you’d like flexibility on your return journey.
- Add 2 adults, then hit done.
- Tap the search and buy button.
- You can then select the best train for your journey.
- Pay securely, grab your travel buddy, and catch that train.

Off-peak journey restrictions
Duo tickets are not valid on the following off-peak services:
Duo tickets can’t be used on blue-marked routes during the peak hours of 16:01 to 18:29.
For stations/routes marked in green, evening peak restrictions apply between these stations and as listed below in both directions:
- New Mills Central to all stations via Bredbury or Woodley to Manchester (Oxford Road, Piccadilly, Victoria), Deansgate, Salford Central and Salford Crescent
- New Mills Newtown and Disley to all stations via Stockport to Manchester (Oxford Road, Piccadilly, Victoria), Deansgate, Salford Central and Salford Crescent
- Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Handforth to all stations via Stockport to Manchester (Oxford Road, Piccadilly, Victoria), Deansgate, Salford Central and Salford Crescent
- Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Styal via Manchester Airport to Manchester (Oxford Road, Piccadilly, Victoria), Deansgate, Salford Central and Salford Crescent
- Warrington Central, Padgate and Birchwood via Urmston to Manchester (Oxford Road, Piccadilly, Victoria), Deansgate, Salford Central and Salford Crescent

Standard Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak Terms & Conditions
- Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak fares are cheaper tickets for travelling on trains that are less busy. You may be required to travel at specific times of day, days of the week or on a specific route.
- Tickets can be bought in advance or immediately before travel.
- Discounts
3.1 Children (aged 5 to 15 inclusive): Available for Standard Class fares. Up to 2 children aged under 5 can travel free with each fare paying passenger.
3.2 16-17 Saver holders: Available for Standard Class fares.
3.3 16-25 Railcard, 26-30 Railcard, Family & Friends Railcard, Disabled Persons Railcard, Senior Railcard, HM Forces Railcard and Network Railcard (London and South East): Available for Standard Class fares.
3.4 Other Discount cards: Gold Card (London and South East) and JobCentre Plus Travel Discount Card: Available for Standard Class fares - Please note: Minimum fares / time restrictions may apply to tickets bought with a Railcard or other discount card. See terms and conditions of the appropriate Railcard or discount card for details.
- Website journey planners can tell you when your ticket can be used – simply enter your outward and return journey times to see the trains you can travel on.
- Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak tickets are valid for travel on the date shown on your ticket and until 04:29 on the following day.
- Off-Peak Singles and the outward portion of Off-Peak Returns are valid for travel on the date shown on the ticket and until 04:29 the following morning. If the journey cannot be completed in this time, the ticket may be used to continue the journey on the following day. Unless otherwise indicated in the relevant restriction code, time restrictions apply as from the initial origin station on both days. The appropriate restrictions for the actual day on which travel is being undertaken apply (for example, it may be that if day 1 is on Sunday, no restrictions apply, but on day 2, the Monday-Friday restrictions apply). All travel must be completed by 04:29 in the morning after this second day. Please note that break of journey is not permitted on some journeys, as detailed in the ticket restrictions.
- Return portions of Off-Peak Return tickets are valid for travel until 04:29 on the day following the last day of validity (i.e. 1 calendar month from outward journey). All travel must be completed by this time.
- Railcard holders travelling on a discounted ticket must carry their Railcard when they travel. If a Railcard holder fails to produce their valid Railcard with their ticket, they will be required to pay a full priced ticket for their journey as if no Railcard and/or no ticket were held.
- The outward part of an Off-Peak Day and Super Off-Peak Day Return ticket is only valid for travel when accompanied by an unused return part of the same ticket.
- Break of journey is allowed on the outward and return portions of Off-Peak tickets unless otherwise indicated by a restriction shown against the ticket's validity code.
- You may start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station along the route of travel on Off-Peak tickets unless the ticket restriction for the journey you are making does not allow it. If you intend to start, break and resume, or end your journey at any intermediate station, please call 03457 48 49 50 to check if it is available on your specific journey.
- If you wish to change your time of travel, you can pay the difference between the cost of the ticket held and the cost of the ticket that is most appropriate for the journey you need to make.
- In many cases, if you are still travelling at a time when your ticket is not restricted, no additional fare is payable.
- If you wish to change the date of travel, or the origin or destination of your ticket, it may be necessary to buy a new ticket and apply for a refund on your existing ticket (see below).
- Your ticket is refundable. If you decide not to use your ticket to make all or part of your intended journey then you can get a refund by returning your unused ticket to the ticket office or place of purchase (for tickets bought via websites, telesales or travel agents) within 28 days of the ticket expiry date. You may be required to pay an administration fee. The refund amount will normally take into account any use you have made of the ticket and in some circumstances no refund will be paid.
