Engineering at Stalybridge for TRU
Over this 26 day period, Network Rail will be carrying out major improvement work at Stalybridge to install overhead line equipment to enable cleaner, greener electric trains to run.
Network Rail will also be completely remodelling and simplifying the track layout and commissioning new signalling upgrades to improve capacity, assist reliability and increase the speed that trains can run at.
During this time, Northern services between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge will be replaced by rail replacement buses. Trains from Southport which normally finish at Stalybridge will only run between Southport and Manchester Victoria.
We’re also expecting our trains between Manchester, Rochdale, Bradford and Leeds to be busier throughout this time.
Thanks for bearing with us whilst this upgrade takes place.
