Her Majesty The Queen's Lying-in-State at the Palace of Westminster (Houses of Parliament)
Her Majesty The Queen’s Lying-in-State at the Palace of Westminster opens to the public at 5pm on Wednesday 14 September. It will be open 24 hours a day until it closes at 6.30am on Monday 19 September.
Members of the public attending may pay their respects.
If you wish to attend the Lying-in-State, please note that there will be a queue, which is expected to be very long. More details can be found here.
The funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - Travel Advice
The funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday 19th September at 11am at Westminster Abbey, London.
London is going to be extremely busy over the mourning period and the day of the funeral. If you are planning on travelling to London during this time, please allow as much time as possible when making your journey and check before you travel.

Bank Holiday 19 September
We will be running our usual timetabled services during the upcoming Bank Holiday.
Ticketing for the Bank Holiday
Anytime, Off-Peak and Super Off-Peak ticket holders will be able to get fee-free refunds on tickets which have been purchased on and before 8 September. The ‘up to £10’ admin fee will be waived.
Passengers who have bought an Anytime ticket in advance for the day of Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral (Monday 19th September) can get a fee free refund if they choose not to travel, or rebook to a cheaper fare for the Monday as peak fares will no longer apply.
Monday 19 September is a Bank Holiday, which means there will be no time restrictions on the use of Off-Peak or Super Off-Peak tickets. On all other weekdays during the mourning period, normal restrictions will apply.
These policies apply up to and including Monday 19 September 2022 and Advance tickets will be 'refundable' in line with the existing 'Book with confidence scheme.
