Due to a level crossing incident near to Bamber Bridge, no trains are running between Preston and Blackburn until further notice. 

Please do not attempt to travel between these stations today, 25 June. 

To travel west from stations east of Blackburn:

  • Use trains from Blackburn to Bolton for connections to Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster and Cumbria

To travel east from stations west of Preston:

  • Take trains from Preston to Manchester stations for connections to West Yorkshire and Burnley
  • Take trains from Preston to Bolton for connections to Blackburn 

Alternate transport

In addition to the train and rail replacement buses, local public buses are as follows:

  • Route 23 from Preston to Bamber Bridge
  • Route 45 from Preston to Blackburn
  • Route 113 from Preston to Leyland, which stops in Lostock Hall and Bamber Bridge
  • Route 124 from Preston to Chorley, which stops in Bamber Bridge
  • Route 152 from Preston to Burnley
