Salford Central station closure

SALFORD CENTRAL CLOSURE - 10 February - 21 April 2025

Salford Central will be closed from Monday 10 February to Monday 21 April 2025 as part of major engineering works at the station.

Transport for Greater Manchester and Network Rail are investing £10m to upgrade Salford Central Station for passengers. 

The scheme will deliver a new, more accessible, customer ticket office, additional accessible toilets, improvements to the ramps and more inclusive, passenger information, such as braille maps, wayfinding, Customer Information Systems, and Public Address Systems. 

The project will also deliver much-needed modernisation of the station building and an overall improvement in the customer journey throughout the station,.

Key points

• Salford Central will be closed from Monday 10 February to Monday 21 April 2025. 
• There will also be several weekends between March and September 2025 where the line will be blocked at Salford Crescent.
