Ticket acceptance for customers affected by the disruption to Eurostar services on 30 December 2025:

  • Eurostar customers who have had to abandon their journey can use their tickets on Northern services to return home on 30 December 2025 at no extra charge.
  • Eurostar customers with tickets for travel on 30 December 2025 can also use their tickets on Northern services up to and including 1 January 2026.

Northern also has ticket acceptance in place with other local operators.

In the event of a cancellation, customers holding a valid ticket can able to travel on any Northern, LNER, East Midlands Railway or TransPennine Express train two hours before or after a cancelled train. 

Customers can travel on any reasonable route, as long as it is displayed as an option in journey planners, and tickets are automatically accepted.
