Plan ahead for historic mixed Team Time Trial - Yorkshire 2019

Sunday will see the first ever mixed Team Time Trial at the UCI Road Race World Championships.

The race will start and finish in Harrogate with Northern asking all cycling fans to make themselves aware of rail timetables for the day.

Sunday timetables differ from those used during the rest of the week and, with thousands of people expected to attend the historic event, Northern is calling on everyone to plan ahead.

The day’s race is set to start at 1.10pm with a scheduled finish of around 3.40pm. But, with a special fanzone in the town, the event activity is likely to continue well into the evening. Trains to and from Harrogate are expected to be much busier than usual throughout the day and a queuing system may be used at Harrogate station to keep people on the move as efficiently as possible.

Steve Hopkinson, Northern’s Regional Director, said: “Sunday promises to be a fantastic day of sport in Yorkshire and we are working hard to make sure our customers can get in and out of Harrogate with the minimum of fuss. Our trains will be busy though and we are asking everyone planning to travel by train to be patient and allow extra time for travel.”
