Due to a derailed freight train between Sunderland and Hartlepool, train services between Newcastle and Middlesbrough via Hartlepool are seriously disrupted.
Northern customers wlil be able to use their tickets with other train operators to travel in both directions between:
- Middlesbrough - Darlington on Transpennine Express services until further notice.
- Newcastle - Darlington on CrossCountry services until further notice.
- Newcastle - Sunderland on Tyne & Wear Metro services until further notice.
Unfortunately, disruption is expected for most of the morning.
