Northern's customers in North East to get strong service during RMT strike

Northern customers across the north east of England are set to benefit from a strong service during the latest RMT strikes.

On Monday 26 March and Thursday 29 March Northern will be operating more than 73% of its usual services in the region, a significant rise in since the previous strike earlier this month.

Mike Paterson, Regional Director at Northern, said: “Thanks to our management staff and other volunteers,  we are able to operate more services to keep our customers on the move during the RMT strike action next week.

“We are running more trains, and, and some routes, more later trains, than during any other day of RMT strike action. In doing so we will be able to help support the region’s economy in the build up to the Easter weekend.”

Whilst the majority of Northern’s services will operate between 7am and 7pm, some will run as late as 11pm.

Mike added: “Although we are running more services, we expect all services to be busy and, with amended timetables, we’re calling on our customers to plan ahead, check timetables carefully and allow extra time for any journeys.”

Full details of the revised timetables and supporting information for customers can be found on the Northern website.
