Northern Services severley disrupted between St Helens and Huyton

Northern train services are currently disrupted between Wigan and St Helens due to a broken down train.

Single line working is in operation on the route and disruption, with delays and cancellations is expected to continue until around 2100 hours. This disruption will impact, in particular, Northern customers travelling between Preston or Blackpool and Liverpool.

Virgin Trains are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Northern rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

Customers can get real time journey updates by going to Northern's Journey Check page or by tweeting @northernassist.

Northern's Customer Promise provides for compensation to customers who are delayed by 30 minutes or longer on their journey.  To make a Delay Repay claim, customers should go to https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/corporate/compensation-information or ask for a Delay Repay form at a staffed station.
