Over the past year, our amazing staff have been #ProudToBeHelping by continuing to get key workers to where they need to be. Valentine’s Day this year saw us celebrate those key workers with a special Key Worker takeover on our social media channels. This could have been a worker on the railway, an NHS nurse, a shop worker feeding the nation or one of the many teachers, delivery drivers and members of the emergency services who have gone above and beyond to help others.
We received so many lovely messages shouting out our wonderful key workers, here’s a selection of what some of you said:
"Throughout the pandemic it has been a privilege to work with this lady! She is unselfish, hard-working and can be relied upon to assist with anything"
- Stephen, for Staff Nurse Julie at Airedale Hospital
"Normally I'd walk past barrier staff; these guys were brilliant and helpful. Platform directions and being cheerful in the cold at 8.15am in the morning. Heroes! Thank you!"
- Ian, for the Bradford Interchange Ticket Barrier Team
I would like to nominate Julie Smith who is a parish councillor from Handforth. As well as being a key worker, when the first lockdown occurred in 2020 Julie was very proactive in organising people to do shopping, collect prescriptions etc for those who had to self isolate. Julie works hard all the time for the people of Handforth and deserves this nomination in recognition of all the work that she does."
