Disruption Skipton - Carlisle

As a result of the collapse of a retaining wall between Kirkby Stephen and Garsdale, services between Leeds and Carlisle will be disrupted.

Tuesday 24th February
Northbound trains travelling from Leeds and Skipton to Carlisle will be subject to delays of up to 30 minutes due to an ongoing earthworks issue.

Wednesday 25th February
Due to emergency repairs to an embankment, NO TRAINS will operate all day between Garsdale and Kirkby Stephen. 
Trains will run between Carlisle and Kirkby Stephen and between Leeds, Skipton and Garsdale.

A replacement bus service will operate between Settle and Carlisle for customers unable to complete their journey. Customers should check journey times before they travel.

Northern tickets will be accepted on TransPennine Express services between Carlisle and Manchester and customers with advance purchase tickets can also choose to travel tomorrow or on Thursday 26 February instead.

We are working to get national journey planners updated with this issue. Currently they will show a full service which is not the case.
