      Building an inclusive railway experience for everyone

      The Northern Accessibility User Group (NAUG) is our advisory panel made up of people with lived experience of disability. Think of us as Northern's critical friends – real people who understand the barriers that can make rail travel difficult.

      Our diverse panel represents a wide variety of user groups, ensuring that every voice is heard and that challenges are understood. We meet regularly with Northern's wider teams to share our experiences and help shape a more inclusive railway.

      How NAUG Makes a Difference

      Our goal is simple: to help Northern create a railway that works for absolutely everyone. We're not just advisors – we're partners in building accessibility into every aspect of Northern's services.
       

      What we do:

      • Identify and help remove barriers that prevent people from using the railway
      • Build stronger connections between Northern and disabled communities
      • Drive innovation in accessibility practices and policies
      • Influence Northern's culture to put accessibility at the heart of everything they do
