Chesterfield in Derbyshire is an historic market town and is home to one of UK’s largest open-air markets which has been trading for over 800 years. Market days are Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, the market boasts fresh seasonal produce, friendly market traders and value for money goods in a bustling market atmosphere. Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the traditional market as you browse a variety of stalls selling food, fashion, home ware and gifts.

The Church of St Mary and All Saints, which was built in the 1300s, dominates the town centre and is famous for its Crooked Spire. There are lots of local legends around its appearance, including claims that it was twisted by the Devil after a Chesterfield blacksmith made a poor job of shoeing his hooves!

There’s plenty of arts, culture and sport on offer too with a great year-round events programme at the Winding Wheel and Pomegranate Theatres, and cricket at Queen’s Park.
