- Book in advance – Advance train tickets are usually cheaper and can be booked up to 12 weeks ahead.

Yes! We’re big fans of pedal power, and welcome bikes on board, free of charge.
There are a limited number of cycle spaces available on our trains. They’re offered on a first-come first-served basis, so you won’t need to book ahead.
However, e-bikes cannot travel on Northern trains or be stored at stations.
We’ve teamed up with CyclingUK to develop our Cycle Promise, a commitment to making cycling and train travel work better together. Making it easier to bring your bike onboard and championing better bike-train connections across our network.
