Sheffield to Lincoln engineering works

For nine days, Saturday 13 March until Sunday 21 March 2021 the line between Sheffield, Worksop, Retford and Lincoln will be closed for Network Rail to undertake track and signalling renewal work.

Northern

Rail replacement buses will run between Sheffield, Worksop, Retford and Lincoln.

 

East Midlands Railway

East Midlands Railway services between Worksop and Nottingham, also services between Doncaster and Spalding via Lincoln are unaffected by these works and will continue to run.

 

If you are travelling Gainsborough Lea Road, Saxilby and Lincoln, both rail replacement buses and trains will run.

Rail Replacement

Rail replacement bus stop locations can be found on the Useful Information Posters at stations.

 

At Sheffield, rail replacement buses arrive and depart from Sheffield Interchange Bus Station, stands E5 or E6, this is a ten-minute walk from the rail station.

 

Please note rail replacement buses are unable to carry:

  • Heavy luggage
  • Non-folding bicycles, prams or scooters
  • Animals (other than registered assistance dogs).

 Passenger Assist

Our Passenger Assist service is available from all affected stations for customers requiring mobility assistance. Where possible, we recommend booking assistance in advance by calling 0800 138 5560 (Text Relay 18001 0800 138 5560), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week or online.

 

Travelling with us

Please note there are now national travel restrictions in place. Please check the latest national travel restrictions prior to your journey. 

If you choose to travel by train, please travel safe. You must wear a face covering on board the train and in the station (unless a medical condition or disability prevents you), try to avoid busy times varying your usual travel times to prevent crowding and check the times of your journey before you travel.
