Hope Valley Line engineering works
On Sundays during January 2021, buses replace trains along the Hope Valley line, which runs between Manchester and Sheffield, as Network Rail undertake track renewal and signalling works.
Sundays 10, 17 and 31 January 2021
Trains will run between Manchester Piccadilly and Chinley and a rail replacement bus will run between Chinley and Sheffield.
Sunday 24 January 2021
Rail replacement buses will run throughout between Manchester, Chinley and Sheffield.
TransPennine Express and East Midlands Railway
TransPennine Express services from Cleethorpes to Manchester Piccadilly and the East Midlands Railway services from Norwich to Liverpool Lime Street will also be affected by works on the Hope Valley.

At Sheffield, rail replacement buses arrive and depart from Sheffield Interchange Bus Station, stands E5 or E6 – a five-minute walk from the rail station.
Please note rail replacement buses are unable to carry:
+ Heavy luggage
+ Non-folding bicycles, prams or scooters
+ Animals (other than registered assistance dogs).
Travelling to or from Edale?
Edale will not be served by the main rail replacement bus service due to narrow roads. A separate minibus service runs between Edale and Hope stations, where connections with the main bus services can be made to Manchester or Sheffield.
