15 November - 13 December
Cumbrian Coast engineering works
On Sundays (15, 22, 29 November and 6 and 13 December 2020), buses replace trains along the Cumbrian Coast line between Sellafield, Ravenglass and Millom as Network Rail upgrade track in the Bootle area.
Trains will still run between Carlisle, Workington, Whitehaven and Sellafield in the North, and between Millom, Kirkby-in-Furness and Barrow-in-Furnessinthe South.
Due to the locations of stations along the line, journeys will take significantly longer than usual where rail replacement bus services are in operation.
Rail replacement bus stop locations can be found on station information posters. Rail replacement buses do not serve Drigg or Silecroft stations - please use the following locations:
- Drigg - the bus stops on the B5344, adjacent to the junction with Station Road
- Silecroft - the bus stops on A5093, adjacent to the junction with Main Street and the Murthwaite Green Trekking Centre.
Please note rail replacement buses are unable to carry:
+ Heavy luggage
