Weekend East Lancashire engineering works

On Saturday 21 November and Sundays 22, 29 November and 6 December 2020, buses replace trains along the East Lancashire line at various locations between Preston and Colne/Hebden Bridge, and also on the Clitheroe and Bolton to Blackburn lines, as Network Rail undertake essential track and level crossing signalling renewal works.


The following train services will be affected by these works:

+ Preston to Blackburn and Colne
+ Manchester, Bolton to Blackburn and Clitheroe

+ Blackpool North, Preston, Blackburn, Hebden Bridge, Bradford Interchange, Leeds and York.

Rail replacement buses

Journeys will take longer than usual where rail replacement busservices are in operation. If you are travelling to or from West Yorkshire, please use the limited stop services that will be in operation.

Saturday 21 and Sundays 22 and 29 November

- Preston, Blackburn and Colne (for Blackpool to Colne services)
- Preston and Blackburn and Hebden Bridge (for Blackpool to York services)
- Bolton, Darwen, Blackburn and Clitheroe (for Rochdale to Clitheroe services)

Sunday 6 December

Rail replacement bus stop locations can be found on station information posters. Please note rail replacement buses are unable to carry:
  + Heavy luggage
  + Non-folding bicycles, prams or scooters
  + Animals(other than registered assistance dogs).

 

Travelling to or from Entwistle?

Rail replacement buses are unable to serve Entwistle. Please call Customer Services on 0800 200 6060 or speak to station staff at Bolton or Blackburn to make alternative travel arrangements.
