Northern has responded to RMT's annoucnement of further strike action on Saturday 21 July. A spokesman for Northern said: “Northern can confirm that, following our recent invitation, RMT has agreed to meaningful talks early next week regarding its ongoing dispute.”

Following calls from Transport for the North for reinstatement of a rail service between Oxenholme and Windermere as soon as possible, Northern has confirmed plans to get trains running again on the Lakes Line from the beginning of July.

Northern is calling on all customers to plan their travel carefully this Saturday due to RMT strike action that will affect the Northern network.

Northern has today released its timetables for two of the three days of RMT strike action next week.

We have issued a statement about the additional compensation scheme for our customers affected by delays and cancellations following the timetable change in May.

Northern tickets will now be accepted on a number of other train companies' services until 31 August 2018.
