Northern has teamed up with TransPennine Express (TPE) to ensure its disabled customers can travel as comfortably and safely as possible.

The two rail operators hosted their inaugural Inclusivity Forum this month, to help guide their strategies for improving inclusivity across their networks. The forum included representatives from across the region including Disability Rights UK, N Vision and other leading disability organisations.

Alex Hynes, Managing Director of Northern, comments: “The forum is an integral group of informed people who represent the needs and views of customers with a range of disabilities, to inform and challenge our decision making process. The forum will help us keep up to date with relevant legislation and areas of concern, provide feedback on what we are doing well and what we can improve on and how we can learn from other travel industries to provide the best service possible for our customers.”

The Joint Inclusivity Forum will be held several times a year.
