Northern’s ‘We Are Northern’ campaign promoting great destinations in its northern heartlands rolled into Blackpool this week offering holiday-makers and locals Copacabana-worthy tans hot on the heels of the Olympics. 

The campaign aims to highlight the fantastic locations that can be reached by train across Northern’s network and the lasting memories a great day out can create - and this week a free pop-up spray tanning booth was installed close to the iconic Blackpool Tower enabling holidaymakers to be instantly transformed.

Mick Elliot, Blackpool North’s Station Manager for Northern, says: “This campaign is about highlighting how many wonderful destinations there are in the North of England and Blackpool is one of those, offering something for everyone with one of the best beaches in the world*. It was great to see people having the opportunity to have a beach-ready, safe tan and tell them a bit more about the campaign. We want to inspire and excite people living in the region about the great destinations which are less than an hour by train away from them.

“We’re proud to be Northern and to help showcase the best the region has to offer, tapping into Northerners’ wit and warmth as well as pride in their culture and landscape. Who needs Rio when you can have a great day out and get a fabulous and safe tan right on your doorstep?”
