Storm Doris is predicted to impact the north of England on Thursday morning and Northern is calling on all customers to be prepared.

Thousands of people were left smiling this week after steam made a welcome return to the Settle and Carlisle line. Northern took its customers to a bygone age by replacing regular timetabled services with a steam service – hauled by the A1 locomotive Tornado.

Northern was given cause to celebrate last week after scooping a customer focussed award at the UK Rail Industry Awards. Having been nominated in three categories, Northern came home with the gong for Project and Service Innovation.

Northern has responded to the RMT after the union expressed its intention to ballot Northern conductors who are members of the RMT.

Northern hopes to be celebrating later this week after being nominated for three prestigious UK Rail Industry Awards.

Tickets for the historic visit of Tornado to the Settle and Carlisle line are now all but sold out.  

The results of the autumn 2016 wave of the National Rail Passenger Survey (NRPS) have been published today. They show that overall customer satisfaction with Northern and our services is 81%.
