Northern has unveiled the first two trains in a £500m new fleet that will set new standards for customers using local rail in the north of England.
Northern will be introducing an additional compensation scheme for those customers who travelled three or more days a week in April, May or June 2018 but who did not have a season ticket. The new scheme was announced earlier today by Transport for the North.
Northern is deeply sorry for the unacceptable disruption caused to our customers in the north west of England following the introduction of the new timetable on Sunday 20 May 2018. We apologise unreservedly to our customers who did not receive the service they deserve in affected areas.
