Station Message
The toilets on platforms 4 and 5 are out of order at Bolton station.
From Monday 11 March 2024, the lift to platforms 4 and 5 at Bolton station is being replaced. During this time, passengers travelling from Bolton towards Preston, Blackpool and Cumbria will need to travel via Salford Crescent for step-free access. Passengers are advised to use the lift to platforms 1 and 3, to travel to Salford Crescent and use the step-free access there to head northbound.
Passengers who need step-free access are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and where possible, book assisted travel in advance with their train operator. Extra staff will be at the station to help passengers safely use the stairs.

Please note that with immediate effect, Beccles will not be served by the main Rail Replacement bus when rail replacement is in operation. It will be served by a smaller shuttle bus service, which is the largest vehicle that can safely turn in the station car park, and this will operate between Halesworth, Beccles, Oulton Broad South, and Lowestoft. Customers travelling to/from Beccles who are travelling to/from stations between Halesworth and Ipswich will need to transfer from the shuttle bus service to the main Rail Replacement coach service at Halesworth. The smaller shuttle bus services pick up and drop off in the station car park at Beccles, just outside the station.

There is one cycle stand to the far left of the station car park, near the motorcycle parking area. Three more cycle stands are next to the wall of the old station building on Platform 2 (for trains towards Lowestoft), and one cycle locker is just around the corner of the same building.
A sheltered cycle parking area providing three cycle stands is on Platform 1 (for trains towards Halesworth, Saxmundham, and Ipswich), between the entrance to this platform and the overbridge.

As the station is not staffed, wheelchair users may wish to consider bringing a companion along to assist them either getting to or from Platform 1 (for trains arriving from Lowestoft, or towards Halesworth, Saxmundham, and Ipswich).
