The 24th International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival will take place in the Royal Hall, Harrogate from Friday, August 4 to Sunday, August 20, 2017.

This annual event is a celebration of the very best performances of the country’s most successful and enduring musical partnerships – Sir Arthur Sullivan and WS Gilbert.

The Yorkshire-based Festival features 40 full-scale productions staged in the magnificent Harrogate Royal Hall and its adjoining facility. A major highlight this year will be the 12 performances of the critically acclaimed National Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company with four brand new productions of The Mikado, Princess Ida, The Pirates of Penzance and HMS Pinafore accompanied by the 24-piece Gilbert & Sullivan Festival Orchestra. An exciting fringe programme includes a fascinating list of speakers and authors from around the world.

Harrogate is one of the prettiest spa towns in the country; home of the world-famous Bettys Tea Rooms and a plethora of delightful shops and restaurants.

Come and experience the wit and humour of Gilbert’s magical dialogue along with Sullivan’s glorious music. The Festival is fun, it’s friendly and a very warm Yorkshire welcome is waiting for you.
