Centred around three lakes, and just a mile or so from Bolton town centre, Moses Gate Country Park promises an uplifting taste of serenity and nature – and an adrenaline-fuelled play area!

Gather the family and head out on one of the many miles of scenic walks this immense country park has to offer, or bring the bikes and follow a cycle route. Nature lovers can spend time watching the wildlife at the main and largest lake. There’s also a lake where fishing is not just permitted but actively encouraged - and another that’s dedicated to canoeing.

The Rock Hall Visitor Centre

Rock Hall Visitor Centre is located within the grounds – you’re welcome to pop in to find out more about the local countryside, view the latest exhibitions, and find out about events. The Bird Hide is located right next door so keep quiet! -  because keen twitchers will be trying to spot wild birds of many a variety.

And do let the kids off the leash in the well-equipped Play Area. It’s one of the biggest in the region, featuring equipment including the ‘Cone Climber’ and ‘Galaxy Supernova’! Once they’ve sampled these delights it’s surely time for some quiet time – luckily there’s lawn after lawn upon which to have a quiet picnic.
