A day in the life of a Northern Cleaner
It's people like Shaun that have helped make Northern what it's become today - and that's a pleasant, comfortable environment for people to work and travel.
What we look for in a Cleaner
As soon as you put on that Northern uniform, it's time to get cleaning. Whether it's the daytime, evening, weekend or even a Bank Holiday. So you'll need to be the kind of person who thrives on hard work and loves to see a job done properly.
We're looking for the kind of people who work well as part of a team and can even lead one, when the time comes. Following the guidelines and processes set out by us, you'll also be able to maintain your fantastic way with people, even when confronted or challenged.
How to apply
First of all, have a look at our current vacancies area to see if there are any opportunities near where you live and you can apply online from there. If not, you can register to receive a vacancy alert and we'll send you an email to let you know when something suitable comes up.
Once you've applied, we'll make sure you're kept up to date with each stage of your application. After the closing date, we invite candidates to take a five-minute online assessment which looks at how suited you'd be to working in this type of role. Then we shortlist for interview and, if you meet the Northern standards, you'll then be invited to attend a Competency Based Interview. We'll even email you a guidance leaflet to help you prepare for your interview.
What happens next?
Finally, if successful, you'll be considered for any vacancies that are currently available, and if we're not able to offer you a role straight away, we'll place you in our Talent Pool and you'll be considered for any forthcoming opportunities for up to 6 months.
