Examples of community activity
Every year we will make funding available to support station adoption and community activity. Our groups deliver a wide range of schemes, here are a few examples:
Friends of Dronfield Station was established in 2007. The group has developed award-winning gardens at the stations and a membership base of over 200 people.
Commondale Station on the Esk Valley Railway lies within the North York Moors National Park. The unstaffed station has been adopted through a volunteer program, organised by a locally–based community project Beyond Boundaries.
