Fuel up for your adventure with a pizza at nearby Water Lane Boathouse, before heading in the direction of first Kirkstall Marina and onwards in the direction of Bingley. Stop for some refreshments along the way at the Kirsktall Bridge Inn, or go slightly off course to take in Temple Coffee’s famous vegan donuts. Relax in the park

If you’re after a more relaxing day, you can catch the Northern train to Headingley station and stroll to the impressive Kirkstall Abbey. Established in 1152, the ruins of the Abbey are situated in a beautiful grassy park that are a perfect place for a picnic. As well as housing an excellent interactive visitor centre, the Abbey is also home to an outdoor market one weekend per month up until 25 November, making it the perfect place to bring all the family.

Enjoy a rooftop bar

One of the most popular outdoor activities Leeds has to offer on a sunny day is visiting one of the wide range of rooftop bars in Leeds. Check out the Kennedy Meadows on the rooftop of Headrow House where you can watch the sun set with a good selection of beer and an even better selection of music. Angelica’s is also a firm favourite and is the perfect spot to catch up for a bite to eat with friends in the sun, with heaters and blankets on hand if there's a chill. They offer a menu filled with delectable food and are famous for their cocktails, and Angelica’s is home to a Friday Night Rooftop Disco, making it the perfect place to start your weekend in style.
